Privacy Policy

What TwiceText collects when you use its tools, what stays in your browser, how long data is kept and how to have it removed.

Last updated: October 1, 2026

This policy explains what TwiceText (twicetext.com) collects when you use the site, why, how long it is kept and how to have it removed. It describes how the site actually works today; when that changes, we update this page and the date above.

The short version

  • There are no accounts, no sign-up and no email list.
  • The site does not run advertising or analytics scripts, and it sets no tracking or advertising cookies.
  • Text you type into the repeater, invisible text, reverse, case converter and counters stays in your browser and is not sent to us.
  • Short phrases you style with the fancy text feature are sent to our server and to our style service. Styled versions you copy or share can appear publicly on the site.

Text you enter in the tools

The Text Repeater, Invisible Text, Reverse Text, Case Converter, Character Counter and Word Counter work in your browser. Their input and output are not transmitted to our server.

Fancy styles for short phrases. When you tap Repeat on a single-line phrase of 2 to 40 characters, the page sends that phrase to our server to build styled versions of it. To do that, the phrase and your IP address are passed to the third-party style service we use, and the phrase may be passed to a translation service to find related symbols and emoji. Our server keeps a cache of the styles built for a phrase so it can serve them again.

Public community list. When you copy one of the styled versions (30 characters or fewer), or submit your own version with the share box, that text is added to a list other visitors can see under the same phrase, and copies and likes are counted. Please do not share personal information there. To have an item removed, see “Your choices and rights” below.

Usage counts. We count how often phrases are styled and copied, by day. These counts contain the phrase but not who used it, and they are deleted after 35 days. A weekly summary of popular phrases with their counts (no IP addresses) is sent to the content planning system we use to decide which guides to write. To avoid counting the same visitor twice in one day, the server keeps a one-way hash of the IP address together with the phrase for that day only.

Ratings and feedback

Pages have a “Was this helpful?” rating. When you vote, we store the vote count for that page. To allow one vote per visitor per page per day, the server keeps a one-way hash of your IP address for 24 hours, then it expires. If you vote “no” and pick reasons or write a note, the reasons and note (up to 500 characters) are stored with the page and the date so we can fix the problem. We keep the latest 200 notes. Please do not put personal information in the note.

What is stored on your device

The site uses your browser’s local storage, not cookies, for a few conveniences. This data never leaves your device unless stated:

  • Saved items — up to 30 results you chose to save, so you can copy them later.
  • Your votes and likes — so the page remembers that you already rated or liked something.
  • A short-lived security token — sent back to our server with fancy-style requests to block automated abuse.

You can clear all of it at any time by clearing site data for twicetext.com in your browser settings.

Server logs and our network provider

Like almost every website, our web server records basic request logs: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the browser’s user agent and the referring page. We use them to keep the site running and to stop abuse. Logs are rotated daily and kept for about 10 days.

The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which protects it from attacks and speeds up loading. Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to do this and may set a strictly necessary security cookie. See Cloudflare’s own privacy policy for details.

Cookies, ads and analytics

TwiceText does not currently show advertising and does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics or tracking service. Apart from a possible security cookie from Cloudflare, the site sets no cookies for visitors. If we ever add advertising or analytics, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it — for example for visitors in the EEA and UK — ask for your consent before any non-essential cookie is set.

Why we process this data

We process the data above to provide the features you use (styling a phrase, saving, rating), to keep the site secure and to improve the tools and guides. For visitors in the EEA and UK, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe, working website, and, for content you choose to share publicly, your own choice to share it.

Sharing and selling

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. Data is passed only to the service providers named above (the style and translation services, our content planning system and Cloudflare) and only for the purposes described, or when the law requires it.

Children

TwiceText is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has shared personal information in a public list or a feedback note, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR in the EEA and UK and the CCPA/CPRA in California, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its processing and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because the site has no accounts, we usually cannot link data to you unless you tell us the exact phrase, page or note involved.

To make a request, including removing a phrase from a public list, email [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy request”. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. More ways to reach us are on the TwiceText contact page.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and stored data is kept on servers with restricted access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we keep only the data described here.

Changes to this policy

When we change what the site collects, we update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top before the change goes live.
